Jobs介紹產品言簡意賅始終一句話就要交代清楚 Twitter還未問世之前 Jobs對自家產品的描繪說明從未超過140個字 所以當做之事即是把馬上可用又專門的簡報技巧授與學子 以一種短小有效的方式來極力促銷商品概念於同學 普適於所有商品之三大簡報基本要點將於課中實作: 即 understandable, memorable, and emotional 其完效標準唯適用於三者: 1. moving people to action 2. close a sale 3. receiving project funding

English Presentations for Information Technology II

Brief Introduction of Course Contents:
Effective communication is a fundamentally important skill for MIS students. The goal of this class is to familiarize students with the communication process in a pitch and teach skills necessary to successfully present their results. An overview over several practices of the info-tech communication will be given, such as oral and poster presentations and preparation of written manuscripts or audio-video clips. Steve Jobs always described his products in one sentence. Even before Twitter existed, Jobs’ product descriptions never exceeded 140 characters. So it is a good move to give students the very specific techniques they could use immediately to pitch their ideas to fellow students in a simple but effective way. Three essential components of all successful presentations are shared in class. By the word ‘successful,’ I mean presentations that accomplish their intended effect—to move people to action, to close a sale, to receive project funding, etc. In a nutshell, successful presentations are understandable, memorable, and emotional. (Cited from Carmine Gallo’s speech) Notes on details: Overview This course is designed for individuals who want to improve the quality and impact of their briefings and presentations on IT. Through practice presentation sessions, videotaping, small- and large-group discussions, practical exercises, and individual coaching and feedback sessions, participants learn how to prepare for and deliver briefings and presentations. The emphasis is on practical skills. Participants follow a step-by-step process to plan for and deliver an individual presentation and a team briefing, view the results of their presentation on videotape, and receive feedback from their peers and the facilitator. ________________________________________ Who Takes This Course This course is designed for individuals who want to identify and use their natural delivery style to improve the quality and impact of their briefings and presentations on IT development in business. ________________________________________ Learning Objectives 1. Identify the differences and similarities between briefings and presentations 2. Address the fears associated with public speaking 3. List the steps involved in preparing and delivering a briefing or presentation 4. Identify and refine the purpose and intent of their briefings or presentations 5. Brainstorm ideas and research content 6. Apply the “rule of three” to organize content 7. Create attention grabbing openings and strong closings 8. Select a relevant structure to organize their information 9. Develop a script using effective transitions 10. Employ best practices when using visual aids to support their briefing or presentation 11. Anticipate and prepare for audience questions 12. Identify their natural delivery style so that they can communicate clearly and effectively 13. Apply best practices to their delivery 14. Improve their presentations or briefings based on feedback from the facilitator and peers
